What is a standard ?
A standard is a document that sets out some general rules, specifications and procedures to ensure that a product meets certain requirements. For technical design, standards define the methods and practices to develop a uniform design.
A general classification standards looks like the one below:
- standard specification
- standard test method
- standard guide
- standard units and these are not all the standards type.
So, before you study tehnical drawing you should know something about standards. There are many standards about tehnical drawing, all of them trying to unify all the elements of a drawing and additional resources. The most important technical drawing standards are about:
